Wilcom AutoTuft’s revolutionary 3D sculpting and unique textured effects for custom rugs

At Domotex 2009, Wilcom is displaying an array of beautiful samples of just what you
can achieve with the Wilcom AutoTuft – custom rug tufting machine. These 3D shapes,
textures and intricate patterns are set to open up a whole new world of creative rug
design and production.

Wilcom AutoTuft is an innovative robotic machine that creates consistently high quality,
custom tufted rugs and wall hangings, quickly and cost effectively. This unique technology
produces beautiful textures and effects that have never been achieved with hand-tufting.
From a business perspective, custom rugs can be created at price points to suit the full
spectrum of the market, while stock lines can be managed with ‘made on demand’
strategies that minimise overheads and reduce risks.

variable pile heights, mixtures of cut and loop pile as well as 3D sculpting effects
really opens the door to fantastic new effects while maintaining high productivity
and automation.

The AutoTuft machine switches automatically between cut and loop pile very quickly
without operator intervention – meaning that there are no stops or head lifts even for
small texture effects. Production speeds are between 1000-1500 rpm, depending
on the design.
Wilcom Mira Carpet & Rug Design software provides realistic simulation tools to preview
the textured design before production and to show customers the finished effect without
the cost of sampling.
